Abstract Thirteen-year-old Anna Fitzgerald has been conceived in order to be a matching donor for her older sister Kate, who rare form of leukaemia. The story the novel “My Sister’s Keeper” by Jody Picoult, and Nick Cassavetes’ movie, many striking similarities situations that we heard from families studied – despite one significant difference: is created saviour sibling, whereas stem cell donors interviewed already existed were found matching.
